Adaptation B: Influence Maps

Goddesses

The images in this influence are for all three Goddesses. I want them to have the ethereal look of women in old paintings, with bodies that look as though they've been manipulated by nature.

Rose Goddess

The Rose Goddess is made of flowers and thorns. Beautiful, but capable of causing harm.

Sunflower Goddess

The Sunflower Goddess is tall and elegant, but starting to wilt. She is made of petals and sunlight.

Lilly Goddess

The Lilly Goddess is youthful in looks, dainty and innocent. She decorates herself with petals and pretty gifts she is offered.

Environments

The Goddesses choose different environments and different times of the day and year to appear. They all live in or near forested areas. The Rose Goddess prefers dense forest, where she surrounds herself with dark trees and roses. The Lilly Goddess can be found playing in streams, but only at dawn or dusk. The Sunflower Goddess lives in a forest on the edge of a sunflower field. She can be found during the summer months at sunrise, when she will leave the forest and walk, usually unnoticed, through the field of sunflowers.

The Lilly

I've began looking at parts of the poems I consider to be most important in order to build characters. From these, I've found images and colours I feel fit the poem. I've also made word clouds, combining words from the poem as well as my own perceptions of these flowers.

I like the idea of making the characters three goddesses of love, each symbolising different types of love. The goddesses have possessed women, and years spent as hosts have corrupted their bodies to begin taking on the attributes of plants, changing their skin colour and causing roots and twigs to grow from their skin.
